Dingle Marshes
Dingle Marsh is the largest freshwater reedbed in Britain and is situated just north of the village of Dunwich on the Suffolk coast. The site is managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, the RSPB and English Nature. Unfortunately this freshwater marsh will soon be lost forever as the shingle bank that seperates and protects it from the North Sea is being breached with more regularity each year. The Enviroment Agency have said that protecting the marshes was unsustainable in practical terms and economically.
